The Batman has released its latest trailer and it reveals more of the Caped Crusaders challenges in the upcoming DC film coming out in 2022. It teases the partnership between Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman played by Robert Pattison and Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman plays by Zoë Kravitz.
The new trailer, titled “The Bat and the Cat,” focuses on the relationship between the two DC characters. The Batman trailer features scenes of Batman and Catwoman fighting each other at first. Perhaps this is where they first meet. There’s a scene where cats walk up to Batman while the vigilante is in the antihero’s apartment.
“You got a lot of cats,” Batman tells Selina Kyle. “I have a thing about strays,” she replies, while holding what seems to be a glass of milk.
The Batman trailer also features a lot of what the Riddler, who is played by Paul Dano, is doing to terrorize the city of Gotham while also specifically antagonizing Bruce Wayne. He is still not fully revealed, but the marketing for The Batman only has been showing the Riddler’s victims, question mark signatures, video clues, and a lot of face timing. Hopefully, the Riddler has a good data plan.
“I’m just here to unmask the truth about this cesspool we call a city,” the Riddler says.
The new Batman trailer also reveals more of the tone and visuals of this take of the dark knight. A detective noir with a mix of David Fincher’s Seven film. Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne continues to be a brooding, disturbed hero willing to push his limits to end the Riddler’s terror on Gotham. There’s a scene of flooding in Gotham streets and a flooded underground where Batman looks like he’s leading a squad of Gotham police.
The Batman trailer continues to show action sequences inside what seems to be an arena. Perhaps a political campaign rally. Batman and Catwoman continue to fight goons on the catwalk (no pun intended) above the arena. The trailer ends with an intense scene of Batman fighting henchmen revealing more of his fighting skills. The trailer truly shows beautifully shot scenes and surely will be a visually appealing Batman movie.
Along with Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, and Paul Dano, The Batman cast also includes Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, and Jayme Lawson.
The Batman hits theaters only on March 4, 2022. Watch The Batman trailer below.
