With Ms. Marvel soon wrapping up, it’s time to look at the next Marvel Cinematic Universe series on the horizon. The latest superhero on the Disney+ schedule will be She-Hulk, a woman with the same transforming powers as the Hulk. If you’re planning on watching the series, here’s all you need to know about jumping into the show.
Title
The title has been confirmed as of May 2022 that the show will go under the title She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. This differs from the previous series like Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel which only feature the central hero’s name as the title.
She-Hulk: Attorney Story
The series will focus on Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who exclusively handles cases that involve superheroes. Her cousin is Bruce Banner, known to the Avengers as The Hulk. In addition to being related to Bruce, she’ll also have similar powers. Here’s how much we know about that based on the official synopsis released by Marvel Studios:
“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.”
Outside of this information, little is known about the type of story and central conflict for the show. Even the trailer doesn’t reveal too much. Check out the trailer below to see what we mean.
The She-Hulk series star Tatiana Maslany also spoke a bit more about the type of character She-Hulk will be in this series.
“She really is the antithesis of most superhero narratives… There’s this great element of denial in her that’s relatable. For me, it was about rejecting what’s happened for as long as I could, as that’s what causes the fun tension between Jennifer and She-Hulk. She’s in a career that’s male-dominated and incredibly vicious and hierarchal. When she’s heading this superhuman firm, that’s where we get some really fun characters that she’s either defending or in opposition of. It’s like this really absurd take on a legal show.”
The Crew
The nine-episode series will be helmed by Jessica Gao acting as head writer. Kat Coiro and Anu Valia will be serving as episode directors. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro, and Jessica Gao will be executive producers. Co-executive producer duties fall to Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Cast
As mentioned previously, the lead for the series will be Tatiana Maslany playing the role of Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk. Bruce Banner/The Hulk will, of course, be reprised by Mark Ruffalo, who has been playing the character since 2012’s The Avengers. Bruce was last seen briefly in a post-credit scene for Shang-Chi.
Other returning actors/characters will include Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination and Benedict Wong as Wong. The rest of the cast will be comprised of Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
When It Will Air
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will debut its first episodes on August 17th, 2022. New episodes will then release every following week.
