San Diego Comic-Con 2024 attendees will get a treat this summer when Marvel Studios makes its return to the legendary Hall H—where the stars, directors and executive producers promote their upcoming movies, tv shows and announce future projects. This highly anticipated comeback signifies Marvel’s commitment to engaging directly with its fans and promises a treasure trove of exciting announcements.
According to Deadline, the MCU will be returning to SDCC’s Hall H as the massive media event gets going in beautiful San Diego, California this summer. The 4-day event from July 25 to July 28 will see thousands of pop-culture fans along with major studios and toy manufacturers descend upon the San Diego Convention Center.
In years past, Marvel Studios usually makes their appearance in Hall H on Saturday nights, but there has been no confirmation if that will be the case at this year’s SDCC. With the highly-anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine movie releasing in theaters on July 26, it is likely that Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige will address the film after its release—just speculating here.
Feige is known for using these Hall H presentations to drop major surprises. Fans might be treated to unexpected casting announcements, the reveal of entirely new film or television projects, or even hints about the future phases of the MCU.
Last year’s Comic-Con felt more like the earlier days of comic book conventions—no major studios or A-list stars. Due to the writer’s strike that went on throughout most of 2023, studios and actors were not allowed to promote any upcoming films and future projects.
After last year’s smaller-scale event, Marvel and other studios will likely make some big announcements. The MCU has undergone some creative retooling for some of their projects—with some rescheduled while others prioritized. Marvel Studios introduced the world to The Multiverse Saga back in SDCC 2022.
