Reports saying Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ will not be filming on location. ‘The Batman’ was shooting in the UK several months ago and fans were able to take a sneak peek at the action. Then production had to hit pause like other movies and television shows in the process of filming because of the pandemic.
‘The Batman’ was scheduled for only a couple weeks to be shut down. Reports say it was going to resume July 6. The same report also said production will shoot in Chicago. Just like ‘The Dark Knight’ back in 2008. Then the plan changed again.
The Batman will resume in September according to Kris Tapley, host of Netflix’s The Call Sheet podcast, but will not be shooting on location. Tapley said, “All locations scrapped”. All the necessary sets will be built inside a studio. There were no further details given, but it’s probably pretty clear this was because of the pandemic.
ontrolling their locations will help with any potential exposure to the virus by being away from open spaces and people who may be gathering to catch a glimpse of the Dark Knight in action.
We know that Matt Reeves was going for a specific tone and feel for Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’. So it’ll be interesting how shooting on set as opposed to shooting on location will affect that look and feel of the movie. We’ll just have to wait and see in 2021.
