Peacemaker is roasting other heroes from the DC cinematic universe in a new promo for the HBO Max show starring John Cena as Christopher Smith a.k.a. Peacemaker.
Peacemaker was first featured in 2021’s The Suicide Squad directed by James Gunn and is now the star of his own spinoff show. The Peacemaker series, also written by James Gunn with some episodes helmed by him, debuted last week with the first three episodes. The episodes started with high praise from critics and fans.
A way to keep spreading the word about the first original DC series on HBO Max as the show’s fourth episode released on Thursday, the latest spoiler-free promo has John Cena’s antihero continues to make fun of other DC heroes. Peacemaker’s notorious modus operandi in The Suicide Squad was to help secure “peace” no matter how many men, women, or children he had to mow down to do so.
In typical fashion of John Cena’s character, Peacemaker boasts that he is superior to Henry Cavill’s Superman, Zachary Levi’s Shazam, Nathan Fillion’s T.D.K., Sylvester Stallone’s King Shark, Sean Gunn’s Weasel, Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, and Ezra Miller’s The Flash.
The only DC character Peacemaker approves of is Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman saying, “Dude looks like he lifts.” Though he does make fun of Aquaman to a janitor in the first episode. He does also say David Dastmalchian’s Polka-Dot Man being able to throw polka-dots is “actually kind of cool.”
Peacemaker then proceeds to give his villainous government employer, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, a salute. Waller coerced Peacemaker for top-secret missions by implanting a bomb at the base of his skull as she does with all her antiheroes.
“I appreciate your service, ma’am, and all the work that you do,” Peacemaker said.
The first four episodes of Peacemaker are now streaming on HBO Max with new episodes premiering every Thursday. Watch Peacemaker as he roasts other DC heroes in the promo below.
