John Cena’s Peacemaker just released a new hotline for those “committed to peace.” HBO Max is preparing for its big series with a lot of social media exposure and PR stunts. Now fans of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad can join a Task Force X meeting by dialing 1-833-4PSSMKR.
Peacemaker Hotline 1-833-4PSSMKR
Once you call, an automated voice will answer saying “You have now joined the Task Force X meeting which Peacemaker was late to.” Then leads to audio from the Peacemaker official first look clip. On Peacemaker’s Twitter account, there’s been non-stop riffing on other properties.
John Cena has kept the running joke about his costume being a uniform in all different media forms. He even appeared on a few late-night talk shows dressed as Peacemaker. In the beginning, it might’ve seemed a little odd that Cena was always dressed in his DC Comics character. Now it all makes sense. Pop-culture fans attending NYCC this weekend will get another taste of John Cena’s Peacemaker before it premieres on HBO’s streaming platform.
“Peacemaker is an opportunity to delve into current world issues through the lens of this superhero/supervillain/and world’s biggest douchebag,” Gunn explained when word of the John Cena’s Peacemaker series broke out. “I’m excited to expand The Suicide Squad and bring this character from the DC film universe to the full breadth of a series. And of course, to be able to work again with John, Peter, and my friends at Warner Bros. is the icing on the cake.”
“I have said before that it has been a tremendous honor and an incredible opportunity to be part of The Suicide Squad and to work with James on what is going to be a fantastic movie,” Cena continued. “I am unbelievably excited to have the chance to team up with him again for Peacemaker. We can’t wait for fans to see this.”
“That’s a world, specifically DC, that HBO typically wouldn’t have done,” said HBO chief Casey Bloys to media earlier this year. “And when you’ve got someone like James Gunn who wants to do that, it’s a great way to take advantage. When you think about those shows, they all feel slightly broader than what HBO might typically do.”
So if you’re “committed to peace,” go ahead and try it! Here’s the number to John Cena’s Peacemaker hotline again. 1-833-4PSSMKR.
