Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for Loki Season 2. The upcoming second season of the Disney+ series will continue to chronicle Loki’s multiversal adventures. This Loki isn’t the redeemed Loki that was killed by the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. This is the Loki who tried to take over New York and escaped using the space stone in Avengers: Endgame, but perhaps Loki has always had a good heart as this version is also in some kind of redemptive path.
In the season 1 finale, Loki allowed a Loki variant named Sylvie (Sophie Di Martino) to kill He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), a Kang variant who had been preserving the Sacred Timeline through the TVA (Time Variance Authority). Now Loki has to reckon with a version of the multiverse that has been rewritten.
Owen Wilson’s character, TVA agent Mobius M. Mobius, became a fan-favorite in Loki Season 1, spoke to Comicbook.com before the writer’s and actor’s strike. Wilson teased that there will be more Mobius in Loki Season 2.
“I thought I would have a good time but I really enjoyed it,” Wilson says of his time on the first season of the show. “I’ve been lucky working on a million movies and always having a good time but on that one, I had a really great time and that continued on Season Two. Maybe even more so because we were filming in London and being there at Pinewood but yeah, [his story] just goes deeper.”
Marvel Studios’ official synopsis of Loki Season 2
“Loki Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.”
Loki Season 2 Release Date
Tom Hiddleston returns as the God of Mischief who is once again joined by Owen Wilson’s Mobius. The two must attempt to keep the timelines intact and go on an adventure to keep reality from collapsing after Sylvie killed He Who Remains and unleashed the wrath of Kang the Conqueror upon the multiverse. Now Loki and Mobius will embark on their multiverse adventure when Loki Season 2 starts October 6 on Disney+.
