Batman Day was Sept. 19. Prior to the big day, DC Comics posted instructions on their web site guiding fans on how they could create their own bat signal. When the big day rolled around, they were given the green light to celebrate by putting their signals on display.
While that’s exciting enough, this year, fans have even more reason to honor the comic series/movie franchise as Matt Reeves will be taking over on production, Batman and Ben Affleck will be returning as the Dark Night.
DC got fans excited when the comic web site released the following announcement:
“Did DC Fandome whet your appetite for even more of the Dark Knight? Then join fans all around the world as they celebrate The World’s Greatest Detective! When you spot the Bat-Signal on social media, you know it’s the official start to Batman Day!”
The Bat-Signal shines in many ways. Check out some fan interpretations from DC FanDome and get ready to shine your own Bat-Signal on Batman Day. Whether it’s in your room, with your pet or with your toys, everyone’s world deserves a Bat-Signal light!”
DC also celebrated by offering members of their site free giveaways and encouraging fans to read the new Batman books and comics and enjoy Batman Day only deals and promotions.

In other DC news, DC FanDome took place in an online format on Sept. 12. During the event, Matt Reeves made an appearance to talk about his recreation of Gotham for the new movie.
“The Batcave, the Batmobile and the bat suit, they took a long time you know,” Reeves said, “And so they started illustrating and I’d say we spent easily a year to do the bat suit and then to get into the Batmobile and that of course, that part’s a dream.”
We know what Reeves means! What did you do to celebrate Batman Day this year?
