Disney+ has surely taken Marvel fans on a wild and exciting ride over the last two months, as WandaVision has fulfilled just about every expectation and has been one of the breakout shows of 2021.
With the WandaVision finale airing tomorrow, expect a lot more surprises and plenty of revelations about what’s exactly real and not in Wanda and Vision’s new reality.
One of the big things viewers are expected to learn is who the real Vision is. Remember, at the end of the last episode, we were introduced to another version of Vision running around WestView, one that SWORD has apparently created. This all-white Vision was a favorite of comic readers.
But what does that mean for Wanda’s husband Vision, played by Paul Bettany. Is he not who she thinks he is?
With two different Visions now in town, neither who are technically the Vision we saw in movies like Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Age of Ultron, who will be revealed as the true one?
According to Comicbook.com, citing an interview director Matt Shakman did with Collider, the answer will come tomorrow.
“We’ve introduced a new character at the end of 8 in White Vision—so now you have two Visions on the board,” he said. “The question of ‘Who is the real Vision?’’ will play out. So there’s a lot to come.”
The director also talked about how Episode 8 opens up the major thematic journey for Wanda, which is the stages of grief.
“That’s what the whole show has been about, how you come to terms with loss,” Shakman says. “So that’s been the overarching theme of the show, the spine of the show. And that’s ultimately what we want to make sure that we’re resolving at the end. But we also want it to be surprising. We want it to be a lot of fun.”
And don’t forget, a much publicized “Big Appearance” by a major actor is going to appear as well. Fans will have a tough time sleeping tonight, waiting for the WandaVision finale to be available at 3 a.m. ET.
