Disney gave Marvel Universe fans an early Christmas present this year, with news and previews of many of its upcoming shows delivered at its Dec. 10 Disney Investment meeting. One of the shows that was previewed was The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where a trailer for the upcoming Disney+ limited series showing a love-hate bromance brewing between the two Marvel characters.

The team-up between Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) will be one of the first original Marvel series to appear on Disney+, with direct ties to the larger events of the MCU.

The trailer showed the titular characters arguing and watching each other’s back, making way for a bromance between these two unlikely-paired heroes.

“The legacy of that shield is…complicated,” we hear Falcon say, as the trailer makes way to plenty of the action viewers can expect. The sequences are not far from what fans would expect in a movie, so this show is going to be something special.

Don’t miss the bro-team moment when the two heroes shake hands and promise to work together—although both know that the collaboration isn’t going to be easy.

“People need something to get behind—they need a symbol,” Bucky says.

The trailer’s final moments reveal what’s not too unexpected, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is going to have plenty of comedic elements thanks to the odd-couple-like buddy teammate, so lots of antagonizing each other is bound to happen between the pair.

The Disney+ series will also feature returning characters Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl), while newcomer Wyatt Russell dons the Captain America-esque mask of Super Patriot aka Jonathan Walker.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres exclusively on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
