Top Gun: Maverick is now streaming and here’s where you can find the Tom Cruise blockbuster online as early as today.
Cruise’s Top Gun sequel soared at the global box office over the summer raking in over $1 billion dollars and surpassing James Cameron’s Titanic. Now, moviegoers can watch Top Gun: Maverick at home as it became available to purchase on Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and other video-on-demand streaming platforms.
Tom Cruise returns to the role of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Cruise’s Maverick returns more than 30 years after the events of the original film to train the latest elite Navy pilots. Original Top Gun star Val Kilmer also returns to reprise his Tom “Ice Man” Kazansky role but is only in the sequel for a brief moment — one of the emotional scenes in the film.
Top Gun: Maverick also stars Miles Teller as Goose’s son and goes by Rooster. Goose (Anthony Edwards) died in the first film during a training exercise. Joining Teller are Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Jay Ellis and Greg Tarzan Davis.
Top Gun: Maverick will start streaming August 23. Those on the West Coast can watch the movie on Amazon Prime Video as early as 9 p.m. where it’s available to buy on digital for $20. It can also be purchased on Google Play, iTunes, Vudu and Youtube Movies & Shows. They also offer the original Top Gun film.
Paramount+ has not set a date for Top Gun: Maverick. When the film does land on Paramount’s streaming platform, a monthly subscription is required. It costs $5 a month with ads and $10 a month for the premium version.
For those who like to own the movie in non-digital form, you can pre-order Top Gun: Maverick in 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray on Amazon.com.
