Thor: Love and Thunder Image Teases Jane Foster and Valkyrie Teamwork

After the twisty, trippy, madness of the Doctor Strange sequel, fans can now look forward to Marvel Studios next highly-anticipated film — Thor: Love and Thunder. A brand new image surfaced online teasing the first ever interaction between Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). You can see Jane as The Mighty Thor.

In the new Thor: Love and Thunder image, Valkyrie, in her new costume, is sitting besides Jane in what seems to be a throne room or a place for council meetings. Based off the expressions on their faces, this may indicate the two having a discussion with others about a really serious matter. Perhaps, they have received news of Gorr The God Butcher. The two may have to work together to stop what ever threat they may be facing.

Thor: Love and Thunder marks the fourth film in the Thor franchise. It’ll see the return of MCU alums Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman who is now taking on the mantle of the Mighty Thor. In a teaser trailer released last month, you can see Mjolnir flying back and being caught by Portman’s Jane Foster in full Thor armor and helmet. Oscar-winner Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Trilogy) makes his Marvel debut as the films big bad — Gorr the God Butcher.

Thor: Love and Thunder Synopsis

“The fourth installment finds Thor on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher, who seeks the extinction of the gods,” says the synopsis. “To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.”

Other Thor alums in Love and Thunder are Jaime Alexander returning as Sif, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Taika Waititi as Korg, and Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Karen GIllan, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, and Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot. Russell Crowe joins the cast as Zeus.

Thor: Love and Thunder will mark Taika Waititi’s second stint as director for a Thor film. Marvel brought him in to direct Thor: Ragnarok. He is also the co-writer for the film along with Jennifer Robinson (Someone Great).

Thor: Love and Thunder premieres this summer in theaters only on July 8th.
