While discussing Sunday’s Fear the Walking Dead season 6 finale on Talking Dead’s at-home edition, host Chris Hardwick announced The Walking Dead Season 11 Preview Special is scheduled to air August 15 — one week before the first episode of The Walking Dead’s eleventh and final season.
The Walking Dead Season 11 Preview Special, also hosted by Chris Hardwick, will be a virtual special that looks ahead at the 8-episodes of The Walking Dead Final Season: Part 1. TWD season 11 has a total of 24 episodes which will be broken up into 3 parts. Guests are yet to be confirmed, but past Preview Specials have had casts and crew giving info of upcoming episodes. TWD showrunner Angela Kang and executive producer Scott Gimple also make appearances in past virtual specials.
“Coming off of the six additional episodes for Season 10, which focused on smaller, character-driven stories, we’re excited to kick off Season 11 bigger than ever,” Kang said in a statement revealing the premiere of The Walking Dead’s final season. “The stakes will be high — we’ll see more zombies, tons of action, intriguing new stories, never-before-seen locations and our groups together in one community for the first time, trying to rebuild what the Whisperers took from them.”
TWD’s final season stars Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton. Also starring in the final season are Callan McAuliffe, Eleanor Matsuura, Cooper Andrews, Nadia Hilker, Cailey Fleming, Cassady McClincy, Lauren Ridloff, Angel Theory, Dan Fogler, and Paola Lazaro. TWD newcomers Margot Bingham (Stephanie) and Michael James Shaw (Mercer) are joining the epic final season.
Part 1 of the The Walking Dead Season 11 starts August 22. Part 2 and 3 will air in 2022. Don’t forget to also mark your calendar for the The Walking Dead Season 11 Preview Special airing August 15.
