AMC Networks announced that The Walking Dead extended season 10 will premiere its first episode one week earlier. “Home Sweet Home” will now stream on AMC+ Sunday, February 21. Its television premiere will still be on February 28 at 9pm ET/PT on AMC’s regular channel.
AMC Networks previously announced the six anthology-style episodes would be released on Thursdays starting February 25 on its streaming service. AMC+ subscribers can access exclusive behind-the-scenes content and watch new and repeat episodes from all Walking Dead shows — The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
The “Home Sweet Home” episode will reunite Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) during the aftermath of the Whisperer War.
“She will return somewhat a new character, which is kind of cool, and all those things that affected and changed her are a story that we want to mine,” Walking Dead executive producer Scott Gimple told ComicBook.com over the summer. “And the dynamics that she left the story in are not the dynamics that she’s coming back to. And for her especially, it’s like she took a year off of high school, and she’s coming back, and everybody has changed.”
We’ll also find out more about Maggie’s time away from Hilltop.
“Now that she is back, we’re going to find out more about what was happening in that time that she was away,” showrunner Angela Kang said in an October interview.
“The years of struggle weigh upon them as past traumas surface, exposing their more vulnerable sides. As they question the state of humanity, the state of their collective community, and the states of their minds, will they find the inner strength to persevere with their lives, friendships, and group intact?”
The Walking Dead extended season 10 starts on February 28 at 9P.M. ET/PT on AMC Networks. “Home Sweet Home” will be available February 21 on AMC+ streaming.
AMC+ is available as an add-on for Apple TV, DirectTV, Dish, , Prime Video, Roku, Sling and Xfinity subscribers.
