The Batman stops filming again after crew member tests for positive for covid

No, you’re not reading old news. After just days resuming production, The Batman stops filming again after a crew member tests positive for COVID.

“A member of ‘The Batman’ production has tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolating in accordance with established protocols,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement. “Filming is temporarily paused.”

That member is Bruce Wayne himself, Robert Pattinson.

According to Vanity Fair, the news of the shutdown was only days after the production started again.

The Batman already paused earlier this year with just seven weeks into filming in the UK when the pandemic first hit. A couple of weeks was the expected halt time, which turned into three months. But then, reports came out saying production would resume in September, but not on location.

Excitement grew for The Batman after director Matt Reeves shared a teaser trailer during the DC FanDome virtual fan experience. If you haven’t seen it, check out the video below.

Robert Pattinson is Bruce Wayne/Batman, leading a cast that includes Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman; Paul Dano as The Riddler; Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Gotham’s district attorney; Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, a mayoral candidate in Gotham; Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. Halting production the first time pushed the release date to October 1, 2021. But now, The Batman stops filming again due to the new COVID case.

Let us know down in comments how you feel about The Batman halting production again.
