Another weekend of NFL playoffs is in the books and Super Bowl 57 is set. Both conference championships have been decided with exciting games — one nail-biter, the other lopsided. The Philadelphia Eagles will battle it out with the Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs got their revenge this time around against Joe Burrow and the Bengals. The strong, high-powered Eagles stopped 49ers’ quarterback Brock Purdy’s Cinderella story. It must’ve been hard for Purdy to see his team get demolished while standing from the sidelines due to his elbow injury sustained in the first quarter.
The Super Bowl has also been a place for memorable ads and movie trailers. With all the action, drama and suspense of the big game, here are some movie trailers we’re expecting to see during Super Bowl 57, which is coming in two weeks.
Creed III
Creed III, the third film from the Rocky series spin-off, is set to premiere in theaters on March 3, 2023 which is less than a month after the Super Bowl. As with Purdy playing his first NFC championship game, Creed star Michael B. Jordan will make his rookie debut as Creed III’s director. Shot in IMAX, the film is also Amazon’s first big release after acquiring MGM. It only makes sense that a new trailer will be shown during Super Bowl 57.
65
65 stars Adam Driver. The science fiction thriller is set to be released on March 17th. The first trailer debuted December 22. This film feels like “Jurassic Park meets Planet of the Apes” that sees Driver crash-landing on a prehistoric Earth. A Super Bowl spot can give 65 some marketing power as millions of viewers could be tuning in for the big game.
John Wick: Chapter 4
John Wick: Chapter 4 also set to release in March. There are already two trailers, but a potential Super Bowl spot can tease the stunning choreographed action scenes of the film. The fourth film in the Keanu Reeves action series probably doesn’t need a big marketing push leading into the final month of its release, but even a 15 or 30 second Super Bowl spot could still happen. John Wick: Chapter 4 premieres March 24.
Fast X
Fast X is probably close to the top of the list of possible trailers to debut during the Super Bowl this year. This is the tenth film in the Fast and Furious Saga but it won’t be the the last. Fast X is not out until May 19, 2023, but the Fast franchise has had a history for big marketing campaigns and Super Bowl 57 can help start its engines.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Another popular and highly-anticipated film is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The film’s first teaser was released not too long ago, but a longer, official trailer could debut during the big game. Rise of the Beasts continues the revived franchise once helmed by director Michael Bay. A Super Bowl spot would further tease how the Maximals, Predacons and Terrorcons fit into the Autobot/Decepticon drama. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set to premiere June 9, 2023.
Super Bowl 57: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs will be played Sunday, February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale Arizona and broadcasted live on Fox. Kickoff is 6:30pm EST. Rihanna will be performing for this year’s Super Bowl Half Time Show.
