Star Wars: The Mandalorian will return for its much anticipated second season on Oct. 30, and Disney+ is giving fans a sneak peak of what to expect.
A trailer for the upcoming season has been released, and provides glimpses of what to expect from The Mandalorian and the Child (Baby Yoda).
The show’s popularity took off faster than the Millennium Falcon’s famed Kessel Run, and fans have eagerly been awaiting new episodes since its 8-episode debut season aired its last new episode on Dec. 27.
There’s been very little to date about what’s expected in Season 2 as Lucasfilm has continued its strategy of being very guarded with plot points and images. However, the new trailer provides a great tease as to what’s to come.
The trailer features new footage and fans can expect more twists and turns throughout the season.
“The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire,” the voiceover accompanying the trailer says.
Star Wars fans are hoping to see some familiar characters this year, but the only glimpse of a new character in the trailer was of a mysterious, hooded figure played by WWE wrestler Sahsa Banks.
Although the trailer didn’t offer anything about the expected larger storyline for Moff Gideon this season, his portrayer Giancarlo Esposito did provide a hint at what to expect in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“I’ll be going toe-to-toe with Mando,” he told EW. “It’s an iconic battle. I want to disarm him mentally as well. Who knows? Maybe there’s an opportunity to get him to fight some battles for me. You may think I’m a villain, but I’m trying to harness some energy and some powers for a path that could be best for all. You’ll get to see him be somewhat diplomatic and more of a manipulator.”
Star Wars: The Mandalorian season two starts October 30th.
