Spider-Man No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version is arriving in theaters but not before new content was revealed prior to its release. On Reddit, u/KostisPat257 shared what fans can expect from the this version.
The original Spider-Man No way Home post credit scene showing the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness teaser has been removed. Instead, a scene that clarifies what the Runes of Kof-Kol did to alter everyone’s memories is put in its place. A lot of viewers did leave the theater wondering how the spell made everyone forget who Peter Parker was.
There’s also more content with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The Holland version of Peter Parker also gets some more high school highlights in Spider-Man No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version.
For the Daredevil fans, you’ll get to see more Charlie Cox doing more lawyer things in this version. The 11 minutes of extra runtime should get enough people back into the theater to see Spider-Man No Way Home again.
The new post-credits scene in Spider-Man No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version will feature Betty Brandt’s final high school news segment. She’ll be taking the students on a recap of their four years together including the Science Decathalon, the Europe trip in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Prom and more. Interestingly enough, there is no Peter Parker in any of the pictures shown. So now, it’ll be clear to MCU fans that Peter has also been wiped from events that he might’ve been a part of before the spell.
Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo previously told Den of Geek about his admiration for Spider-Man No Way Home.
“I thought No Way Home was unbelievable. It was fantastic,” Russo explained. “I thought it was pitch-perfect. It was one of the best times I’ve had in the movie theater in a long time, and it was nice not being involved. As a film geek, I could just go sit in a theater and be surprised and laugh and cry with everyone else in the movie theater.”
Sony Pictures new description for Spider-Man No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version: “For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”
Spider-Man No Way Home: The More Fun Stuff Version swings back into theaters starting September 1, 2022.
