If you thought SpaceX’s Inspiration 4 Super Bowl ad was a marketing tease to Fantastic Four, you weren’t alone.
If you watched the Super Bowl and didn’t get up to reload your plate and drink, you might’ve seen SpaceX’s Inspiration 4 tv spot. And if you’re a fan of Marvel’s Fantastic Four, the ad might’ve looked like some kind of marketing tease to the upcoming reboot by Marvel Studios. Inspiration 4 is SpaceX’s first all-civilian space travel project, which will allow everyday people to travel to space. Are Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben part of this trip? Only Elon Musk knows.
Here’s a little refresher about Marvel’s first family. The Fantastic Four was comprised of scientists and pilots that took an experimental trip to space. An accident in space caused Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben to be exposed to unstable molecules giving them each a superpower unique from each other. They will eventually be known as the Fantastic Four.
It was the 4 in a blue circle that got fans excited for a second. It just so close to the actual FF logo. Check out the fans’s reactions to the Super Bowl ad.

I’m still just sad Inspiration 4 wasn’t a guerrilla campaign for the Fantastic 4 to enter the MCU.

I’m not fully convinced Inspiration 4 isn’t an elaborate Fantastic Four teaser trailer. pic.twitter.com/5Il7LPmFDp

I saw the Inspiration 4 commercial immediately following the Falcon and Winter Soldier trailer. Saw the 4 in a blue circle and thought it was a Fantastic Four teaser. Now, I’m disappointed.https://t.co/tUjhjKKX25

Oh wait? The game is over? Sorry, spent the last 3 hours trying to figure out if the Inspiration 4 commercial truly is a Fantastic Four deep fake trailer … pic.twitter.com/tuZeZ5Qsxh

Inspiration 4 seems cleverly designed to make people think it’s a fantastic four teaser and not an advertisement for Elon Musk wanting to blow four people up on their way to earth orbit for st judes hospital

We know it’s a stretch to think that this is actually a marketing strategy between SpaceX Inspiration 4 and Marvel Studios, but it’s nice to hope. Anyway, perhaps the MCU will finally give The Fantastic Four the movie they deserve.
