The Cowboy Bebop trailer has finally landed and it reveals some beautiful and artistic shots. Netflix’s live-action series adapted from the popular anime show features John Cho as the show’s lead character Spike Spiegel, Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, and of course Ein the corgi.
Cowboy Bebop Trailer Details
The Cowboy Bebop trailer begins with Cho as Spike Spiegel standing on the deck of the interplanetary ship called Bebop. Spike is talking to his friend Ana (Tamara Tunie) about what he’s been up to these days. Then scenes of Spike’s old mobster life, Jet and Faye, and a shot of a rose falling into a puddle that should be familiar to Cowboy Bebop fans are shown while the original intro song plays in the background.
The trailer features the same stylized action the streaming service revealed in a teaser video with scenes that are almost perfect recreations from the the anime. There are glimpse of Spike’s enemies like Pierrot Le Fou, the infamous clown enemy. Some short scenes of Vicious—another one of Spike’s mortal enemies. There are some funny moments shared between Spike, Jet, and Faye. And finally Ein the corgi’s first appearance and how he fits into the group. Images of the main characters were previously released back in August.
The first trailer for Cowboy Trailer reveals the live-action series may seem to be a remix of the anime show. Writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach told io9 last year, “You’ve got a show where you have 26 episodes that are full of very colorful villains, very colorful stories, very colorful adversaries, bounties, and all of that. We’re not going to go one-to-one on all of those stories because we’re also trying to tell the broader story of Spike Spiegel and the Syndicate, Spike Spiegel and Julia, Spike Spiegel and Vicious, and all that. But we are looking at the show and saying, ‘Who are some of the great villains in this show, and how can we put them into this broader narrative?’ So that we are telling both of the big stories that Cowboy Bebop tells.”
One thing that should make Cowboy Bebop fans happy is the anime’s original composer, Yoko Kanno, is coming back to provide new music for the live-action series. The Cowboy Bebop trailer started with a horn song that sounded like a new arrangement of “Cosmos” giving fans a hint of what the anime composer has been working on for the Netflix show.
Cowboy Bebop lands on Netflix on November 19th. Check out the Cowboy Bebop trailer below.
