New Daredevil Series Coming To Disney+, Charlie Cox Returning

A new Daredevil series is reportedly in development for Disney+. Writers and producers are already attached to the Marvel project. According to Variety, Matt Corman and Chris Ord are developing the series for the streaming platform. Reports also say that Disney has been working to get Charlie Cox to reprise his role as Matt Murdock — lawyer by day, defender of Hell’s Kitchen by night.

Charlie Cox Returns For New Daredevil Series for Disney+

Netflix’s Daredevil, along with other Marvel-related projects on Netflix, migrated over to Disney+. Fans have been wanting a new Daredevil series since it got cancelled back in 2018. Most recently, fans had the chance to see Charlie Cox again as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He was hired to represent Peter Parker and his friends. Then Vincent D’Onofrio who played King Pin in Netflix’s Daredevil was revealed to be the big villain in the Hawkeye series.

The Marvel project is picking up steam with the hiring of Corman and Ord. Still, Marvel has yet to formally give further details about the new Daredevil series and reps for Corman and Ord declined to comment.

Corman and Ord are co-creators for the USA Network series Covert Affairs starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham. They served as executive producers and co-showrunners for The Enemy Within and The Brave for NBC as well as Containment on CW.

The move for a new Daredevil series came as Disney aims to bring Marvel heroes under one umbrella. Especially now that the Netflix clause that prevents any Netflix-Marvel shows from appearing in any non-Netflix project for two years after cancellation is over, it’s the right time to move forward.

Disney+ has been rolling out their Marvel Cinematic Universe shows with the most recent being Moon Knight starring Oscar Isaac as the titular hero. They also just dropped the full official trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law earlier this week. There’s a lot more coming and a new Daredevil series starring Charlie Cox will be a perfect fit for Disney’s streaming platform.
