Netflix’s Cobra Kai Season 5 arrives September 9, 2022 and the streaming platform has released the first nine minutes of the pop-culture phenomenon.
9 minutes must be a trending time stamp. As part of Disney+ Day, the Mouse House streamer dropped a nine-minute special look at the upcoming Star Wars: Rogue One spinoff prequel series, Andor, starring Diego Luna.
For the viewers who can’t wait one more day for the fan-favorite Netflix show, they can get a taste of what’s to come in Cobra Kai Season 5.
If you’ve been watching Netflix’s Cobra Kai the past 4 seasons, you’ll know that the former All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament Champions have been forced to close their dojo to honor their deal with their rival, Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). It’s not over. The karate duo, Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), won’t go down that easy.
It’s the moment of truth. Cobra Kai Season 5 will take fans to a new level as Johnny and Daniel, with the help of an unexpected ally, face a new set of enemies. They will need the help of Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) — Daniel’s rival in The Karate Kid Part II.
But our valley heroes aren’t the only ones calling for reinforcements. Now that Silver has sunk his fangs into Cobra Kai dojos, he’s assembled his own team of merciless martial arts experts to defend the territory he has taken. Silver has even called in an old student of his — karate’s “Bad Boy.”
With all the suspense brewing, Johnny and Robby (Tanner Buchanan) decide to take a father and son road trip to Mexico, which coincidentally, is where Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) was headed in Netflix’s Cobra Kai Season 4 finale. Things may turn upside down when Robby figures out this might have been a secret play for Johnny just to find Miguel.
In the season 5 opening, the episode starts with Silver’s voiceover to what seems to be a marketing video for Cobra Kai dojos.
“At Cobra Kai, we believe anyone can be a winner,” Silver says the season’s opening. “All you need is the right teacher.”
Netflix’s Cobra Kai Season 5 starts September 9, 2022 on Netflix.
