While Stranger Things season 5 is still in the early stages of development, Netflix Tudum 2022, the streaming platform’s global fan event released a Stranger Things season 4 blooper reel including a hilarious chuckle from the season’s villain — Vecna.
Stranger Things fans got a little gift on Saturday — maybe not the one they were hoping for — but they got to see 4 minutes of their favorite characters goofing off on set. As the grand finale of Netflix Tudum, the cast were at their goofiest and giddiest moments during the filming of the penultimate season of Stranger Things.
“I can’t wait for the mashup where they get us saying ‘boobies’ 100 times,” Joe Keery tells Maya Hawke while they film a scene from season 4’s first episode. In reality, the editors dropped about 10 b-bombs.
The blooper reel from Netflix Tudum event also features Finn Wolfhard speaking with a British accent, Winona Ryder swinging her hips while Millie Bobby Brown does her best flossing dance. The reel also includes a lot of slipping and tripping including Joseph Quinn accidentally stepping on a vine in the Upside Down then improvises to Keery, “Guess we woke up Vecna.”
The new Netflix Stranger Things fan-favorite, Joseph Quinn, is seen goofing around while rocking out to Master of Puppets by Metallica.
But the icing on the cake in the Stranger Things season 4 blooper reel from Netflix Tudum 2022 has got to be with the season’s Big Bad. Spoiler warning: While Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna is tormenting what seems to be a scene with Natalia Dyer’s Nancy Wheeler, he ends up giggling — which was apparently a common thing for Bower. It’s funny to see him in full on Vecna makeup breaking character.
Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer announced in February that the “super-sized” fourth season would be the penultimate season.
“Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons,” they wrote at the time. “It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are now hurling toward our finale.”
The Duffer brothers also revealed that Stranger Things season 5 will have a time jump to accurately portray their young stars, who have grown up a lot more between seasons three and four.
On September 20, the writers shared on Twitter that they had completed their story grid for Stranger Things season 5.

The board is blurred as to not give away any spoilers, but it’s safe to say fans will see the return of Stranger Things stars including Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarrazo, Caleb McLaughlin, Priah Ferguson, Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton.
As for Sadie Sink, the fate of her character Max is up in the air after she died at the hands of Vecna only to be revived by Eleven. Last time we saw Max, she was in a coma where even Eleven could not telepathically find her consciousness.
And for Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson, who we saw die while being held by Gaten Matarrazo’s Dustin, fans who are well-versed in Dungeons & Dragons lore, say there’s a way they could bring Eddie back from the dead if the writers choose to follow D&D cannon.
