Ms. Marvel Episode 5 “Time and Again” begins with a sepia tone and 4:3 aspect ratio. Archival footage recap the news of a new India free of British rule in the 1940s. Mass migration is brought up and how riots erupt across the country.
The footage ends by stating it needs to go back to 1942 to better understand what led to this point. Aisha (Mehwish Hayat) is seen fleeing from British forces and seeking refuge in a nearby village. A public speaking event Aisha listens to is disrupted by British forces forcing people back into their homes.
Aisha is later awoken by Hasan (Fawad Khan), an Indian independence activist, who offers her help in the form of food and shelter. Aisha is reluctant to accept his help but eventually accepts his offer. She spends the night in his house and they speak over dinner with Aisha slowly revealing more about herself.
After much talk of roses and poems, Aisha and Hasan fall in love with each other. Their relationship grows over their years in the village with Aisha being grateful for finding a new home. She later becomes pregnant with her child Sana.
As Aisha looks after a baby Sana, Hasan finds himself stressed over the political tensions of the country. Aisha tries to reassure him that they’ll get through this together. A village local visits their house and Hasan finds himself far more bitter about being under British occupation.
Najma (Nimra Bucha) finds Aisha and they meet in secret. Najma brings Aisha up to speed about how their plans are ready to be sprung into action after their last encounter. Najma can sense that Aisha is reluctant to continue their journey back home so she gives her until tomorrow to get her affairs in order.
When Ms. Marvel Episode 5 continues the next morning, Aisha stresses to her family that they need to leave. Hasan is hesitant given the legacy left by his father but Aisha pushes him to continue onward. She also gives Sana her bangle, hoping the Clandestine won’t find it.
The family of three set off with others by torches in the night to migrate. Hasan struggles to catch up and questions Aisha about the woman she spoke with last night. Aisha then shows him the magic of the bangle.
Aisha feels shame about not being honest. When hope seems dim, Aisha makes Hasan promise to get Sana on the train. Hasan assures her that they’ll all get on that train.
At the train station, Aisha and Hasan are separated with Hasan stuck with Sana. Heeding her words, Hasan tries to get Sana on the train. Aisha then meets Najma and is stabbed by the vengeful woman who swears she’ll find the bangle if it’s the last thing she does.
Hasan gets separated from Sana and searches for her. Aisha can hear her crying. Aisha pulls out a photo and speaks the words about visions as her eyes turn purple. The bangle with Sana glows.
Ms. Marvel Episode 5 now cuts to Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) currently stuck in this vision of the past, pushing her way through crowds. She finds Aisha who says the bangle brought Kamala to her and gives her a photo. She urges Kamala to save Sana as she dies.
Kamala finds Sana and rescues her. He rushes Sana towards Hasan using her magical powers of the bangle to create platforms. Sana then uses her own magical powers to guide her way back to Hasan.
Reunited with Hasan, Kamala realizes she was the magical force that saved her family those many decades ago before she was even born. Hasan and Sana depart on the train. The bangle then glows and Kamala is sent back to current day Pakistan.
She awakens on the ground with Najma, her Clandestine forces, and Kareem of the Red Daggers. She looks up with Najma to discover the Veil of Noor has opened due to Najma striking the bangle.
Back at Sana’s home, Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff) is freaking out about not being able to call Kamala. She is then informed that she can track Kamala’s phone. A flustered Muneeba then tries to figure out how to track her phone and figure out where she has gone.
With the veil now open, the Clandestines are pleased to have a portal home. They near the portal and prepare for the travel. However, the portal kills one of the Clandestines who attempts to touch it.
Sensing danger to everyone around this growing crack in dimensions, Kamala uses her powers to get the civilians to safety. As Kareem leads away everyone, Najma approaches the portal, convinced she can use it. She vows to use it for Kamran and her body is destroyed with the power of the portal.
Back at the prison, Kamran receives the power of the portal that is gifted by his mother. Ms. Marvel Episode 5 now jumps back to Pakistan, the portal closes. Muneeba and Sana (Samina Ahmad) arrive to witness Kamala using her powers.
Kamala then gives Sana the photograph she was gifted by Aisha. While Sana is overjoyed, Muneeba questions Kamala about what just happened. Sana states how grateful she is for Kamala’s gift and asks if she wants to go home.
Before leaving, however, Kamala catches up with Kareem. While Kareem states he needs to inform the Red Daggers about what transpires, he admits that Kamala has done good today. He also offers his help should she need it in the future, gifting her a red scarf before departing.
Muneeba finds Kamala’s broken necklace on the ground. The broken pendant reveals a lightning bolt.
Back at Sana’s house, Kamala looks over the photo albums of the past with Muneeba and Sana. Kamala is surprised that her mother and father have had many adventures she didn’t know about. Sana embraces Kamala, realizing that it might’ve been fate that drew them back together.

Meeting in Bruno’s apartment above his store, Kamran and Bruno talk for the first time without Kamala in an awkward conversation. Kamran states he needs to have a place to stay until his mother will return.
Just as Bruno starts talking about not having parents present in his life, the DODC attacks with a drone. Kamran uses his powers to fight off the drones. As Kamran and Bruno duck, the store below them explodes.
