Ms. Marvel Episode 2 starts with Kamala (Iman Vellani) attending high school with a much different attitude. Having realized her powers in the last episode and using them at Avengers Con, she has a more easy-going mood in the hallway. She makes casual small talk with everyone she passes.
After getting her books out of her locker, she meets up with her friend Bruno. As they walk down the halls, they notice that Zoe has gained a lot of attention for her interactions with Kamala, viewed as a real superhero. Her social media feed has exploded with new followers as everyone is talking about the encounter with a mysterious new metahuman.
Since Kamala was masked, however, nobody realizes it was her except Bruno. While Kamala hides her powers, Zoe announces she’s having a party to celebrate her encounter. Kamala and Bruno decide to attend anyway.
After school, Bruno and Kamala discover it’s the bangle Kamala wears that gives her the power to create energy. They proceed through a montage of training to discover more about Kamala’s powers. After some practice, she masters the ability to stretch her hands with energy and create platforms in the air.
Ms. Marvel Episode 2 continues with Kamala attending a mosque with her best friend Nakia Bahadir. They find themselves frustrated with the decaying women’s area of the mosque for both the washroom and their prayer area. Frustrated, Kamala suggests that Nakia run for mosque’s board to shake up the male-dominated leadership and improve conditions for women in the mosque.
Kamala’s conversation with Nakia disrupts a lecture where the male lecturer takes little heed of their complaints. After the prayer ceremony, Nakia is frustrated to discover another pair of her shoes has been stolen from the mosque. This only further stresses her desire to run for the board.
Bruno, Kamala, and Nakia attend Zoe’s party and Kamala immediately falls for Kamran, the new student is British and Pakistani. After an awkward conversation, the party is broken up by the police arrive. Kamran invites Bruno, Kamala, and Nakia to escape in his car.
While driving away, Kamala finds herself loving the car. She talks to Kamran and finds that they share the same taste in music and Bollywood movies. Kamala starts falling for him.
Bruno, sensing he may be the weak link of a developing love triangle, tries to interject by saying he also likes Bollywood movies. He fails to impress either of them. Kamala returns home and is ecstatic at meeting someone she is madly in love with.
The next day at school, Bruno has been told that he has earned a free scholarship to a high-ranking school in California. He’s unsure about whether he wants to accept. However, once he notices Kamala practicing driving with Kamran and having a good time, he starts to consider going off to California.
At Kamala’s home, she has dinner with her family in preparation for her brother’s wedding. During the dinner, the topic of Pakistani history comes up that becomes a soar subject for Kamala’s mother. Her father then quietly tells the story of how their grandparents tried to escape the country amid the partition of India.
It is during this story that Kamala receives another trippy vision of her legacy. The room becomes surrounded by purple and a mysterious woman appears before her. The vision vanishes with only Kamala having witnessed such a magical sight.
Kamala retreats to her room to call her grandmother Sana about the powers of the bangle. She refuses to reveal anything about it. With her father entering the room, Kamala uses her powers to close the door and give herself enough time to end the call and go to sleep.
Meanwhile, Zoe is being questioned by Cleary and Deever of the Department of Damage Control (DODC) about the events of AvengersCon. They question her within a dark room and slowly get her to remember the superhero she encountered. They’re able to narrow down the ethnicity of the superhero and wear to look around the city for her.
While at school, Kamala finds herself still thinking about her powers. She ends up having cosmic energy coming out of her nose that she struggles to hide in class. She retreats to the bathroom and tries to contain her powers.
While in the bathroom, Nakia enters and tries to offer her a tampon. After Kamala refuses, Nakia stresses that she can tell her anything. Nakia also takes this time to bring up how she’s running for the board.
Kamala, Nakia, and Bruno all attend the Eid Al-Fitr celebration at the local mosque. While Bruno tries to blend in with his fashion, Nakia tries to mingle and drum up support for her campaign. Kamala aims to help as they target the demographics of the mosques they need to win over.
Later in the evening, a young boy finds himself dangling from atop the highest point of the mosque. Kamala takes this opportunity to put on her Captain Marvel costume and use her powers to save the day. After calming the boy, she uses her energy to create a platform that saves him.
The crowd is relieved the boy is saved. However, Kamala’s powers start to fade as she witnesses another vision of the mysterious woman, and the platform breaks. Kamala struggles to save the falling boy but can only slow his fall enough that the boy still injures his ankle.
In Ms. Marvel Episode 2, Kamala is shocked to discover how little control she has over her powers. She flees the scene as the mosque attends to the boy. During her attempt to escape, she’s cornered by Cleary and Deever as well as other agents and two drones.
Kamala dashes away from them by creating energy platforms. Cleary uses a special weapon that manages to obliterate one of the platforms. Kamala is unable to dash away fast enough.
Help arrives when Kamran arrives with his car and gives Kamala a lift out of there. In the car is Kamran’s mother. It appears that they’ve both been expecting her.
