Moon Knight Episode 6 Spoilers Below
Arthur is handed Ammit’s ushabti as he overlooks Marc’s body. He apologizes that things had to go this way. His apology is to both Marc and Steven, stating that they need to see death before understanding reality.
Layla (May Calamawy) hides in the walls of the tomb. She watches as Arthur starts evoking the power of Ammit’s ushabti. His cane glows and transforms into a creature before he walks off with his men.
With Arthur gone, Layla exits the walls to find Marc’s body. She finds herself forlorn for his loss, clutching and kissing him. She then finds that Arthur has left the scarab on his body.
As Layla lets Marc’s body off into the waters, she starts using the scarab. Meanwhile, Arthur’s men are driving on the roads of Egypt. They are stopped at a checkpoint by authorities.
Arthur uses this as an opportunity to show off his new powers. He uses his transformed cane to reap the souls of the soldiers targeting him. Only one is spared.
Arthur declares this spared officer a good man and says he won’t need his weapons anymore. Arthur’s people then proceed to scan the area. As they do, Layla, who has snuck into the group, readies a knife to prepare to attack Arthur.
Before she can proceed with her sneaky assault, one of the soldiers urges her to stop. The soldier is being possessed by the spirit of Taweret. She tells her that Marc wants her to stop.
Layla is confused but listens. Taweret tells her that Arthur is too powerful and that they need Marc to defeat him. Only if she can find Kohnshu’s ushabti can Marc be resurrected.
Layla puts back on her disguise and goes along with Arthur’s group. They venture to a hidden tomb that he opens with his cane. It is then revealed that he’s breaking into the council of the Gods.
Arthur Frees Ammit in Moon Knight Finale
Moon Knight episode 6 continues with Arthur leading his group into the chambers of the Gods and their avatars. They face off in a showdown of magic. At the same time, Layla uses this chance to find Khonshu’s ushabti and free him.
Arthur, having defeated all the avatars, takes this time to free Ammit. Once he breaks the ushabti, Ammit is revealed to be a giant god with a crocodile head. Arthur bows to her, as does his group.
Layla finds Khonshu’s ushabti and grabs it from the wall. Ammit speaks with Arthur and says his scales lack balance. Arthur was hoping his actions would redeem him but says he’ll accept whatever fate is dealt him.
Ammit, however, says that Arthur needs to serve her. While Arthur tries to suggest worthy souls he has found to be avatars, Ammit insists that Arthur must be her avatar. She tells him peace will be found with their partnership and he submits.
Layla Frees Khonshu
Layla breaks open Khonshu’s ushabti and the God returns. Khonshu says he can’t sense Marc anymore and Layla says he died fighting. With no avatar, Khonshu asks Layla to be his avatar.
When a bitter Layla questions why she should have him inside her body, Khonshu brings up how she can’t survive without him. Layla doesn’t trust him, however, and says she doesn’t want to be enslaved. They try to form a plan to stop Ammit but Khonshu keeps insisting that only an avatar can stop such a God.
As Ammit, Arthur, and his group prepare to leave the tomb, they’re confronted by Khonshu, stating he can’t let Ammit proceed with her plan. Arthur notes that Khonshu could only be freed by someone else. He whispers to one of his men to search the tomb for this person.
Meanwhile in the Moon Knight finale, in the field of reeds, Marc is informed by Taweret that his journey is over. Marc takes in how quiet everything is in this afterlife. He then asks about Steven and Taweret says there’s nothing she can do for him, insisting that Marc enjoy his peace at last.
Unable to go on with the guilt, Marc says he needs to go back for him. Taweret says he shouldn’t go back as it would mean he could never return. Marc, however, is not content with having Steven’s demise on his character.
Despite Taweret begging to reconsider, Marc leaves the fields for the sands where Steven was abandoned. He finds the stoned and petrified Steven. Marc confesses how important Steven has been to him in his lifetime.
Marc finds himself being overtaken by the sand as he speaks with Steven. Marc holds Steven’s hand as he becomes stone. He notes that Steven was the only true friend he ever had.
As Marc makes this confession, a blinding light from their hands frees them both. The two are reunited and hug each other. Steven then notes the gates are now open for them to return.
Ammit and Khonshu engage in a battle within the tomb. At the same time, Marc and Steven make a dash towards the gate as a sandstorm is upon them. They are aided by Taweret’s ship fighting off the sands.
Marc Spector and Steven Grant Come Back To Life
Marc then returns to his body and just in time. Khonshu senses Marc’s presence in the world once more as he is losing his fight against Ammit. Khonshu then grants back Marc’s powers to become Moon Knight.
Marc, now dressed as Moon Knight, meets Khonshu outside the tomb. Steven also chimes in as Mr. Knight about how a new deal needs to be worked out for their partnership. Khonshu agrees to release both Marc and Steven from his imprisonment if they work together to stop Ammit.
Khonshu then uses his power of the night sky to help guide Marc towards Ammit. Back at the tomb of the Gods, Layla rescues one of the avatars and demands he reveals how to stop Ammit. The man states they need to imprison Ammit and that they need more avatars to do it.
The avatar then dies and Layla finds herself alone. She asks for help from Taweret who possesses the recently deceased avatar. Her noisy arrival, however, attracts the attention of Arthur, who attacks her with the magic of his cane.
As Layla tries to flee a crumbling tomb, Taweret takes control of Layla’s body, using her as an avatar. Layla corrects that this is only a temporary possession. Taweret also brings up how she knows Layla’s father in the afterlife before stating she has a costumed form they can assume.
Moon Knight flies towards Arthur, now seeking to unleash his soul-claiming abilities on all of Cairo. The entire population now has scales on their arms. The followers of Ammit then judge everyone based on their worth, taking the lives of the unworthy.
The unworthy souls are consumed by Ammit, now growing in power. Back in the tomb in Moon Knight episode 6, Layla now has a new golden armor for being a God’s avatar. She also has wings that allow for flight.
Moon Knight finally arrives to face Arthur and the two face off against each other in the air. At the same time, the enlarged Khonshu fights Ammit in a battle of giant monsters. The fight between Moon Knight and Arthur proceeds through the streets of Cairo.
With Ammit having pinned Khonshu against a pyramid, the two argue about their intent to punish evil. Ammit gives Khonshu an ultimatum: Be at her side or die.
Before Arthur can get the drop on Moon Knight, Layla arrives to kick Arthur back. Layla then uses her wings to deflect a blast from Arthur, knocking him back. Marc and Layla embrace for a moment to see each other before Arthur’s followers advance on them.
Ammit then asks why Khonshu continues to fight if there’s a certainty he will lose. Khonshu stresses that choice is important and isn’t something that should be taken away. He then attacks Ammit.
Mr. Knight and Layla both team up to stop all of Arthur’s followers in a series of fights. The fight continues through the streets of Cairo. Layla brandishes swords while Moon Knight and Mr. Knight tag-team the followers.
With the followers defeated, both Moon Knight and Layla fight Arthur’s magic. During their struggle, however, Arthur ends up toppling a van with his magic. Layla comes to the rescue of some women in the van, revealing to a nearby girl nearly struck by the vehicle that she is indeed an Egyptian hero.
Arthur uses his magic to push back on Moon Knight. He argues that life would be perfect if it weren’t for someone like Marc. Arthur subdues Marc and pins Layla to the van.
As Ammit gets the upper hand on Khohnshu, Arthur uses his cane to pierce Marc’s body and rob him of his power. Marc watches on as Layla is attacked by Arthur’s followers, trying to protect herself from gunfire with her wings. Marc then blacks out.
Marc and Steven Have A Third Identity
When Marc returns to the body, he finds that Arthur is now on the ground with his cane removed. Marc then looks around at the destruction and asks if this was Steven’s doing. Steven says he couldn’t have done all this.
Layla then questions what just happened. Before Marc can explain, the two of them watch as Ammit drags off Khonshu’s body. Layla says Marc should grab Arthur’s body as she has a plan.
Layla and Marc bring Arthur to the tomb of the Gods and begin a spell. The spell encircles Ammit and Khonshu. Ammit becomes fearful, aware of what this spell will do to her.
The spell imprisons Ammit within Arthur. With Ammit trapped, Khonshu arrives and urges Marc to kill Arthur. Marc prepares to do so with his blades but Layla says Marc still has a choice.
While Khonshu insists that Marc needs to ensure Ammit won’t kill again, Marc refuses to commit. He says that if Khonshu really wants Ammit dead that he can do it himself. He then demands that Khonshu releases him from being an avatar.
Khonshu agrees and removes Marc’s power in a blinding light. Steven awakens in Arthur’s office, now a doctor once more of a psych ward. He asks if this is reality and Arthur tries to stress that it is.
Steven then asks if Arthur believes Khonshu and Ammit are real. Arthur says no. Steven then turns into Marc and asks more sternly what will happen if they disagree.
Marc then notes the bloodstains on Arthur’s shoes. Steven and Marc, within the same body, stand up and say they’d prefer to save the world then entertain Arthur. They depart from this vision.
Marc awakens in his apartment. He speaks with Steven about how their plan worked. They then recall too late that they still have the bedtime ritual of tying themselves to the bed, leading to Marc crashing on the floor in realization.
