Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is shattering box office records and fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have fallen in love with the film, making it one of the studio’s most successful bows in years. But under a special deal that was created due to the pandemic, the latest Marvel film will bow on Disney+ on Nov. 12, about two months after it initially premiered in movie theaters.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings May Be Available For Early Access on Disney+
However, the streamer is offering the popular film outside the 45-day exclusive theatrical window, meaning that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings could become available to the home market through a digital purchase or rental even before it is available to Disney+ subscribers.
When Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings does air, it will mark Disney+ Day, a celebration for the second anniversary of the streaming service.
“The inaugural Disney+ Day will be a grand-scale celebration of our subscribers across the entire company,” Bob Chapek, Disney’s CEO, said in a company release. “This day of appreciation brings to life our mission to entertain, inform, and inspire fans and families around the globe through the power of unparalleled storytelling, and will become an annual tent-pole event to be amplified across our global businesses.”
In addition, Nov. 12 will also find the Disney+ premiere of Jungle Cruise, the new reimagination of Home Alone called Home Sweet Home Alone, a Pixar short film featuring characters from Luca, a new Simpsons short a Boba Fett-themed special, plus the first five episodes of Season 2 of The World According to Jeff Goldblum. Viewers can also expect several fan-favorite Disney Animation Studios shorts, and other surprise content. It’s going to be quite the day!
If you can’t wait, Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is still playing in theaters and was number 1 in the box office for 3 weeks straight.
