While there are still a few episodes of Marvel’s What If…? left, Marvel Studios is already gearing up fans for their next big tv series on Disney+ by releasing the Hawkeye trailer this morning. The trailer revealed Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), who’s trying to live a post-Avengers: Endgame life with his family, is brought back to action when he can’t run away from his past. And as expected, Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop was shown quite a lot in the Hawkeye trailer.
Hawkeye Trailer Featured Lots of Action
Just like the other Marvel Studios live-action shows on Disney+, Hawkeye is being treated just like a film from the studio. It doesn’t matter if Clint Barton and Kate Bishop are street-level heroes, the Hawkeye series will have a production budget pretty similar to a big budget movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“We’re treating our shows as if we’re making our features,” series producer Trinh Tran previously told ComicBook.com of the production value behind Disney+ shows. “I mean, the feel and the quality of those TV shows are going to be like the Marvel movies that you’ve seen. So that’s always been [Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige]’s mindset of let’s make sure that when people are going to be watching these episodes, it’s going to feel like it’s just one long movie except rather than two-and-a-half hours, it’s going to be much longer. And the idea behind certain characters getting their shows is because we’ll have a lot more time to be able to develop these characters rather than the shorter.”
The Hawkeye series writers’ room is led by Jonathan Igla. A writer for the hit show Mad Men on AMC. It’s also Marvel Studios’ first Disney+ show that won’t have the same director throughout the season. WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…? all have had one director for each show. Hawkeye is directed by Bert and Bertie and Rhys Thomas.
Remember the post-credit scene from Black Widow with Yelena? We’re curious to see how all that plays out. Hawkeye premieres on Disney+ on November 24th.
