Netflix’s new Masters of the Universe animated series is coming to the streaming service and Mark Hamill is lending his voice once again. This time, he’ll be voicing He-Man’s arch enemy, Skeletor. Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob) will serve as showrunner.
The official title is Masters of the Universe: Revelation. It’ll be set after the events of the original cartoon series years ago. The star-studded cast includes Mark Hamill, Lena Headey, Sarah Michelle Gellar and more.
During an episode of Fatman Beyond podcast, Kevin Smith said they finished recording Hamill’s voice last summer, but now it seems he’s getting ready to record more Skeletor. Hamill also confirmed it on his Twitter.
Smith said Hamill came out of voice acting retirement to do Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Hamill has lent his voice in the past as the Joker in many Batman full-feature animated movies and tv series.
The new He-Man show is described as, “A radical return to Eternia, Revelation is a direct sequel series to the classic era of Masters of the Universe. Featuring fan favorites He-Man, Orko, Cringer, and Man-At-Arms, the story pits our heroic warriors and guardians of Castle Grayskull against Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man and the vile legions of Snake Mountain!
But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures Eternia, it’s up to Teela to solve the myster of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to prevent the end of the Universe! Her journey will uncover the secrets of Grayskull at last. This is the epic He-Man and the Master of the Universe saga fans have waited 35 years to see!”
There is no official release date for Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Mark Hamill has been trending the last couple weeks with a cameo appearance on a show in a galaxy far, far away. (Spoiler warning).
