Loki Series Will Premiere June 11th on Disney+

With the successful partnership of Marvel Studios and Disney+ on the hit series WandaVision, fans are eagerly awaiting the other shows from the MCU that have been announced to air, and today learned that they only need to wait until summer for one of the most anticipated shows.

Marvel Studios and Disney+ have confirmed on their social media pages that Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston back in the role he’s made famous in the Thor and other Marvel films, will begin streaming on June 9th (Updated).

The original announcement was made by Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios’ president, at the recent Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, CBR.com reported.

When it airs, Loki will be the third Disney+ series under the Marvel umbrella, following the aforementioned WandaVision and the soon to be released The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which airs its premiere episode on March 19, two weeks after Wanda and Vision say their goodbyes.

Loki, written by Michael Waldron, will follow the God of Mischief looking to step out of his brother’s shadow in a timeline that takes place soon after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which saw an alternate version of Loki creating a new timeline. Not much else is known about the plot, as Marvel likes to keep things close to the vest and surprise its fans.

Kate Herron directs. Joining Hiddleston in the show are Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.

At the press conference, Disney+ released some other scheduling notes, announcing Big Shot, starring John Stamos, will premiere April 16; Star Wars: The Bad Batch will launch on May 4; Season 2 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series bows on May 14; Zenimation, starts its second season on June 11; and Monsters at Work will debut on July 2.

The first season of Loki will include six episodes and a second season is already in development.
