A brand new mid-season trailer for Loki episodes 4 through 6 features a location that appears to be Asgard. The latest Disney+ series by Marvel Studios only has three episodes left before it wraps its story arc. To show glimpses of what’s to come for the God of Mischief and the TVA, a promotional video has been released previewing what to expect from the remainder of the 6-episode MCU series.
The Loki episodes started with the trickster’s escape from New York during the events of events of the Avengers: End Game’s time heist. From there, he was recruited by the Time Variance Authority to hunt down a what was presumed to be a Loki variant who has been causing chaos and killing the TVA’s Minutemen.
Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson) didn’t really give Loki a choice, but to agree to be a consultant of the mission. After an attempt to con Mobius, Loki went to work and correctly predict where the Loki variant was hiding. But instead of capturing the variant, who is now known as Sylvie, Loki decides to join her in an effort to understand what she’s really doing.
As seen in Loki episode 3, the God of Mischief and Sylvie have not been successful in going forward with their intentions as both are now trapped on Lamentis-1 as it awaits total destruction. Their only hope getting off the planet was a shuttle that ended up being destroyed by debris at the end of the episode.
The Loki episodes 4-6 promotional video for the Marvel Studios series not only confirms that Loki and Sylvie will eventually find a way to get off the doomed moon, but a clip also reveals an Asgard-looking location. It’s uncertain when this shot is set but it’s enough to get the fans looking forward to Loki possibly finding his way back to Asgard. At least for a moment in time.
It’s worth mentioning that Thor and Loki’s home was one of the many places that Sylvie bombed at the end of Loki episode 2, possibly creating multiple branches in the timeline that could factor in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
It’s uncertain what year Loki and Sylvie end up in Asgard, but it’s probably during the events of Thor: Ragnarok, an apocalyptic event that will allow them to move undetected by the TVA.
Could this be just a flashback scene of the God of Mischief back in his home world, another variant, or the MCU’s original Loki moving about the timelines? It may also be something that might factor in the narrative of Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Asgard has been destroyed for several years now and the people of Asgard have found their new home on Earth as seen in Endgame, but the realm might still appear in the next Thor film.
