Netflix has released the first full trailer for Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, which featured a horde of intelligent and organized zombies that have overrun Las Vegas.
The Army of the Dead trailer features human characters fighting troops of intelligent and organized zombies inside casinos and on the strip of Las Vegas. The last scene ends with a shot of a white tiger zombie, which in this film, animals are not safe from the infection.
Zack Snyder explains what’s different with Army of the Dead from other zombie films.
“It is a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie, so it’s genre-on-genre in a great way,” Snyder said of Army of the Dead in January when talking to Entertainment Weekly. “So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent.” However, he also noted that “It’s going to surprise people that there’s a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters.”
Snyder continued to explain that the human characters are just as much of a draw for the film as the undead. “It’s going to surprise people that there’s a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters.” He discussed how making the Dawn of the Dead remake led to the idea for Army of the Dead and how the project’s development began to fade. Snyder finally took the idea to Netflix. The head of original films for the streaming service, Scott Stubbier, loved the idea and told Snyder to “go make that movie.”
