Hawkeye is the next live-action Marvel Studios series on Disney+ and it’ll premiere on the streaming service next month. Jeremy Renner will reprise his Clint Barton aka Hawkeye role as well as the introduction of Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Marvel fans are excited about the long-awaited MCU debut of Bishop and are curious to see what’s next for the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe once the show ends.
Hawkeye Star Hailee Steinfeld Spoke to Empire
The Hawkeye star talked about the show and teased her character’s Marvel future. “There’s a lot of new opportunities rising. I’m excited to see where a character like Kate goes. She is not to be underestimated in the slightest. We see here how ambitious, how driven she is. The sky’s the limit for her, I feel,” Steinfeld said.
Steinfeld also mentioned her onscreen dynamic with Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring Trilogy). Farmiga plays Kate’s mother, Eleanor Bishop. “Family is an interesting story to unpack. Mother-daughter relationships can be complicated in real life, and Kate is at an age where she’s becoming her own person and disagrees with some of what her mom has to say. The dynamics are… interesting,” she added.
In a recent talk with SFX Magazine, the Hawkeye star spoke about her preparation on joining the MCU. She compared reading Marvel Comics to reading Emily Dickinson poems, who she plays in the Apple TV+ series, Dickinson.
