Eternals star Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke are both leading separate lives as Marvel Universe heroes. But will Harington and Clarke reunite in a future Marvel project? Fans question whether the leading actors for the popular show Game of Thrones can truly stay separate as they both cross into the MCU.
Kit Harington’s debut into the fanatical MCU as human-boy Dane Whitman in the exciting new film, Eternals, now playing in theaters only. In this film by director Chloé Zhao, the once-popular Jon Snow is set to become another kind of sword-expert: Ebony Blade-wielding Black Knight. On the other side of the star-crossed MCU, Emilia Clarke, or the once-beloved Daenerys Targaryen, is set to appear in Secret Invasion, a Marvel Studios original series currently in production at Disney+. Though Clarke’s role is still a mysterious secret, sources have revealed it is indeed part of the Marvel world.
The Eternals star recently told The Hollywood Reporter that him and Clarke haven’t mentally prepared for the possibility of crossing paths. “That would slightly blow my mind, I think, because me and Emilia had a lot together. So if we ended up crossing paths in a different franchise, I think we’d have a good giggle about it.” Either way, neither of the actors plan to reveal much about it, as they are both more terrified of breaching Marvel Studios’ security than they were for HBO.
Clarke says to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, “The first people I spoke to with Marvel after getting the role was their security team…I actually live in fear that something is going to happen, and I’m going to say something, and they’ll be upset.” Though she does mention that her character on Secret Invasion is super cool and one to be excited about. Secret Invasion is also rumored to star leading Marvel franchise actors such as Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Ben Mendelsohn (Skrull Talos), plus a few newcomers like Kingsley Ben-Adir from Peaky Blinders and the OA, Killian Scott (Love/Hate, Domination), Christopher McDonald (Family Law, Ballers), and Olivia Colman (Fleabag, The Crown, The Favorite).
In other news, Marvel’s Eternals leads with another once-cherished Game of Thrones actor, Richard Madden, otherwise known as King of the North (Robb Stark), until Season 3. Others include Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, and Angelina Jolie.
