    Emmy Awards 2022 Nominations Are Here; Stranger Things Among Nominees

    The 2022 Emmy Awards aren’t until September, but the the nominations have been revealed this morning. HBO’s drama series, Succession, leads the nominations with 25, which is followed by Ted Lasso on Apple TV and The White Lotus on HBO. Both earned 20 nominations.

    Those shows are the only ones that earned double-digit noms. Hacks received 17, Only Murders in the Building has 17, Euphoria received 16, Barry has 14, Dopesick with 14, Severance has 14, Squid Games received 14, Ozark has 13, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has 12, Pam & Tommy with 10, and Stranger Things received 13 nominations.

    By platform, HBO leads with a total of 108 nominations. Netflix comes in second with 105. JB Smoove and Melissa Fumero announced the nominees who would be competing during the 2022 Emmy Awards which will be a virtual ceremony.

    JB Smoove is a writer and comedian. Smoove is also an Emmy-winning actor best known for for his role in Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO. Fumero was one of the stars on NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine which wrapped up after 8 season. Smoove and Fumero are set to appear in the upcoming Netflix comedy series Blockbuster. The show also stars Marvel actor Randall Park.
