The anticipated live-action Mulan film is going to be released on Disney+. The news comes after a press release from Disney breaking down its third-quarter losses due to Covid-19. Disney has been forced to alter Mulan’s release from the theaters to streaming after multiple delays because of the coronavirus spikes. According to Comicbook.com, Disney confirmed in an investor call that Mulan will stream on Disney+ through a premium access option that costs about $30.
September 4th is the target release date on the premium access. Not a lot of information was given about the new Disney+ feature, but a cost was given. Users will pay $29.99 to access the premium feature in order to watch Mulan working just like other video on demand services. Disney said more details will come about the premium access within the next month.
This doesn’t mean that Mulan will not be seen on the big screen. According to CEO Bob Chapek, the film will still screen in select theaters. Chapek also mentioned that Mulan will be available in widely opened theaters, but no specific areas are given at the time. Disney hasn’t made any other announcements about release dates of other Disney films.
The next anticipated comic book movie coming real soon is The New Mutants, which has a late August theatrical release. Fans are hoping it won’t be delayed again.
