During Disney Plus Day, Marvel Studios gave fans a lot to look forward to in the next few years. The studio’s president and chief creative officer, Kevin Feige, was present during the event for Disney’s streaming service and shared details and title logos for several new Marvel shows including Echo, Agatha: House of Harkness, Ironheart, Secret Invasion, I Am Groot, and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Moon Knight
Moon Knight follows Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector in a “globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante.” The roof-top leaping hero with dissociative identity disorder and multiple identities is compared to Marvel’s version of Batman.
She-Hulk
Superhuman lawyer Jennifer Walters played by Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany is She-Hulk in what Marvel specifically refers to as a “comedy series.” Don’t make her angry. You won’t like her when she’s angry. The Disney Plus series will also bring back Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner aka Hulk.
Ms. Marvel
Disney Plus Day released some footage of the series introducing Kamala Khan played by newcomer Iman Vellani. Khan is a 16-year-old Pakistani American from New Jersey and is a huge fan of Captain Marvel. The Ms. Marvel will follow Khan who acquires new powers and learns to mix a normal life at school while being a young hero.
Hawkeye Spinoff Show — Echo
Marvel’s Echo features Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), a character from Marvel Studios’ upcoming Hawkeye series on Disney Plus. Echo possesses photographic memory abilities similar to the Marvel comics version of Taskmaster. It’s not clear whether the story will follow Maya before or after the events of the Hawkeye show.
Agatha: House of Harkness
WandaVision’s Agatha Harkness was going to have her own show all along. The show will bring back Kathryn Hahn as the star and will center around Agatha’s evil deeds and wicked ways.
Ironheart Series
If you miss Tony Stark flying around and saving the world in his Iron Man suit, look no further. Ironheart will feature Domique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who will build her own high-tech suit of armor inspired by Iron Man.
Disney Plus Day Announces More from Marvel
Disney Plus Day confirmed more upcoming Marvel shows spinning off from MCU films. Secret Invasion will bring back Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos the Skrull. According to the studio, Secret Invasion will play a big part in the MCU and use how the Skulls have been hiding in plain site on Earth for years using their shapeshifting abilities.
Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and I Am Groot
Disney Plus will also bring back Star-Lord and his Guardians of the Galaxy friends for more adventures. There’s the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, which is written and directed by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn. Disney Plus will also bring a spinoff show from the Guardians of the Galaxy titled I Am Groot which will be a series of shorts about Baby Groot time growing up.
No word yet on the release dates for these shows and most were already announced last year, but Disney Plus Day showed footage from some of the upcoming Marvel projects.
