As DC FanDome kicked off another great year, it revealed a bunch of new projects and movies for fans to look forward to. With a focus on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, here are some just-as-promising 2021 DC FanDome reveals you may have missed.

    Shazam! Fury of the Gods

DC FanDome revealed an inside look of this upcoming sequel with Asher Angel and Zachary Levi claiming the virtual stage. In it, the original Shazam! characters have banded together to take down goddesses Hespera, Calypso, and a third unnamed daughter of Atlas. They are played by Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler. Seems more like the fury of the goddesses to us!

    Peacemaker

Actors John Cena (playing Peacemaker), Freddie Stroma (Vigilante), Steve Agee (John Economos), Danielle Brooks (Leota Adebayo), Jennifer Holland (Emilia Harcourt), and Chukwudi Iwuji (Clemson Murn), divulged more about this juicy news via panel. After Cena really stepped up in The Suicide Squad, he’s been tasked to display his tighty whities once again in HBO’s Peacemaker, where his new adventure involves Task Force X. The comedic teaser trailer was released as part of the panel, with the show’s debut airing January 13, 2022.

    Batgirl

Fans’ beloved vigilante-librarian has finally been graced with her own film. Heading direct to HBO Max streaming, it looks like Leslie Grace is set to play Barbara Gordon, with features the screenwriter Christina Hodson from Birds of Prey and The Flash. Though still in pre-production, sources claim that Batgirl will be sporting her bright red hair and wearing a cowl, instead of the more recent domino mask. Fans rejoice at the more old-school version of Babs G.

    Blue Beetle

Director Angel Manuel Soto, writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, and Cobra Kai’s own Xolo Mariduena introduced awaiting crowds to the first upcoming Mexican American hero known as Blue Beetle.

    Batman: Caped Crusader

Redefining the animated version of the Dark Knight, Bruce Timm has teamed up with J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and James Tucker for this new take, Batman: Caped Crusader. As a more mature take on the 90s’ animated series, fans expect a 1940s noir featuring Batman with few gadgets and no other allies. Consider it a “back to basics” Batman.

    Catwoman: Hunted

Another animated hit to debut in early winter, February 18, 2022, to be exact, it features the iconic feline fatale: Catwoman and Batwoman. Made in an anime style based off Selina Kyle, Catwoman: Hunted pitches an all-femme heist for a priceless jewel. Elizabeth Gillies will voice Catwoman, just as Stephanie Beatriz will voice Batwoman.

    Superman and Lois

A breakout series of 2021, Superman and Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch as our epochal pair. FanDome released a fun, behind-the-scenes commentary of season one, where the Kent family moved back to Clark’s childhood home in Smallville.

    Supergirl

With this series wrapping up this year (cue the fanatical tears), Supergirl star Melissa Benoit joined fellow costars on stage to reminisce over the show’s more epic moments. A rather brilliant and nostalgic sendoff for fans at FanDome!

    Batwoman

With the show going strong, DC FanDome focused on scenes from season two, where fans can see Batwing emerge for the first time. Played by actor Camrus Johnson, he hosted a video spotlight of his initial transformation from the son of Lucius Fox to the Gotham hero, as well as a short trailer of what is to come in season three.

    CW’s The Flash

The big screen reveal of Barry Allen as The Flash also divulged the newest costume upgrade from Grant Gustin. The character is finally running in his beautiful, golden boots from the comics!

    Legends of Tomorrow

This unlikely spinoff of Arrow and The Flash has hit 100 episodes—a metaphorical century of airtime! Legends of Tomorrow prepared a special video highlighting the best of all 100 episodes in only 100 seconds. From Rip Hunter’s introduction on the Waverider to the Legends, it is clear the show’s timeline has been heroic.

    Naomi

Coming 2022, Naomi is a recent creation by Brian Michael Bendis and produced by Ava DuVernay. This story follows a poised and positive comic book fan who pursues her own destiny in the Multiverse. She may discover something to challenge all knowledge of our past heroes.

    Stargirl

Well into its second season, Stargirl has become a hit show based off general comics’ lore and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.DC FanDome released a sneak peek into next week’s episode, which reveals Courtney Whitmore, or Stargirl (played by Brec Bassinger), trapped in purgatory.

    Smallville

With the twentieth anniversary of this show falling on the same day as DC FanDome, the con hosted a special reunion between Clark and Lex (Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum).

    Doom Patrol and Titans

Both shows are now on HBO Max and starting their third season. Titans wraps up on October 21, with FanDome releasing a mid-season trailer for Doom Patrol. Both announced their renewals for a season four.

    Milestone Comics

The Milestone universe announced their first-ever animated movie. This is on top of their Static Shock reveal, which is a live-action film already in development.

    Harley Quinn

A hilarious and often sarcastic show, HBO Max announced that it’s taking on a third season. Fans at DC FanDome watched in hilarity and awe at the lengths the show is willing to go, seen through a clip of the upcoming season.

    Young Justice: Phantoms

Another show that has been moved from the DC Universe streaming site to HBO Max, DC FanDome announced its fourth season. Surprise, surprise—they also revealed that its first two episodes are already streaming!

If you missed DC FanDome, don’t worry—most of the revealed clips are available on Youtube—with episodes of certain shows already streaming. For updates and more, be sure to watch all these hit new series and movies coming your way. And don’t forget to check out Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader in the newest The Batman trailer.
