According to Comicbook.com, the D23 Fantastic Worlds Celebration virtual event will include panels entitled “Marvel’s 616 Uncovered” and “Marvel Comics Celebrates 80 Years of Captain America.” Both are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 17, with Marvel’s 616 starting at 5 p.m., and the Captain America spotlight on deck an hour later.
Marvel’s 616 premieres on the Disney+ streaming service on Nov. 20 and is one of the most anticipated shows of 2020.
“Get an exclusive first look at this exciting new Disney+ docuseries series with Executive Producers Sarah Amos and Jason Sterman, and Directors Clay Jeter and Brian Oakes to get a glimpse into these remarkable stories, showcasing the intersections of storytelling, pop culture, and fandom within the Marvel Universe,” Disney said in a statement about the panel.
As for the Captain America panel, the Mouse House announced it’s “a journey eight decades in the making!” Marvel Comics editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski and executive editor Tom Brevoort will be on hand dissecting the All-American Avenger as he expands from the comics into pop culture lure and onto the big screen.
The event is being run entirely online for 2020 and will be made available to those who are D23 Gold and Gold Family members. Disney also noted a limited-edition pin set would be given out to fans who register for Gold Memberships as a result of the event.
Other panels during the event will include one on the Star Wars franchise, promoting Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge theme park; a look into the history of Mickey Mouse; the excitement of EPCOT; and one on the movie, Toy Story.
If past experience is anything to go by, these D23 panels are not to be missed!
