Chris Evans News: Defending Jacob Far Cry From Captain America

It’s a far cry from Captain America and the Avengers. Chris Evans’ latest project is completely different from anything the talented actor has done before; he’s in a TV mini-series. An exclusive series that is only available through Apple TV.

“Defending Jacob”, focuses on a family tearing at the seams as they try to navigate the fine line between protecting their family and breaking the law. Based on the New York Times Bestseller William Landay’s book, “Defending Jacob” is an emotional roller-coaster with a shocking twist at the end.

Evans’ Andy Barber is a fierce assistant DA who goes too far in his motivation to keep his son out of jail.  Jacob, portrayed by Jaeden Martell, is thrust into the spotlight after his prints were found on the body of a murdered teenager. While he keeps to his innocence defense, the case against Jacob unravels as more information comes to light. Desperate to keep his son out of jail, Andy takes matters into his own hands and pushes the boundaries on right and wrong.

Andy’s wife, Laurie (Michelle Dockery) is caught between the need for the truth and the overwhelming need to keep her son safe. There’s no doubt about it, Defending Jacob is filled with thrills and chills in its 8-episode series.

Chris Evans also ditches the clean-cut Captain America appearance and undergoes a makeover for Defending Jacob. He goes brunette and sports a full beard. While Evans isn’t as grungy as he was in Snow Piercer (really great movie to watch if you haven’t seen it), his character, Andy, looks as though he is going to have some bad days ahead of him!

“Defending Jacob” is available through Apple TV. You can sign up for a free trial and watch the mini-series!
