Actor Mark Ruffalo didn’t give his Avengers co-star Chris Evans any warning about Captain America’s sex life being revealed in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law’s end credits scene.
Warning: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 1 Spoilers Below
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law premiered Thursday. The latest Marvel series on Disney+ follows Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) trying to balance her life as a lawyer and as a hulk ever since her cousin’s, Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, blood was mixed into hers during a car accident.
During She-Hulk’s first episode, Walters frequently jokes about Captain America’s sex life and that he, Steve Rogers, died a virgin — a theory that’s been around the Marvel fandom.
During the end credits, Captain America’s sex life is finally revealed. Walters, while tipsy and buzzed, was talking to Banner saying that Captain America didn’t deserve to die a virgin. Banner had enough of Walters’ ranting that he finally told her the truth.
“Steve Rogers is not a virgin. He lost his virginity to a girl in 1943 on the USO tour,” Banner said.
Turns out, Walters wasn’t drunk at all. She was just manipulating her cousin to spill the truth about Steve Rogers.
The Marvel star joked about the scene recently during an interview with Entertainment Weekly: “I laughed my ass off. I’m like, ‘Does someone need to talk to Captain America about this?’ I haven’t. I was afraid he was going to have it cut. Too late now, buddy. The cat’s out of the bag.”
Cap’s virginity was mentioned by Captain America: The First Avenger writer Stephen McFeely last year suggesting Rogers actually lost his virginity during a USO Tour.
Evans, 41, even tweeted his reaction to the reveal on Thursday, simply writing an array of zipped-lip and laughing-crying face emojis.
Ruffalo also added how She-Hulk: Attorney at Law adds an extra layer of showing the finer details of superhero’s simpler daily lives.
“That’s all the human stuff that we don’t get to [usually see],” Ruffalo said. “What’s great about this show is that we get to see them as just human beings and what their lives are and what those histories are.”
So one of the many mysteries in the MCU now has been revealed. Fans can move on to wondering about more important things like the multiverse. Who knows, maybe in another universe, Steve Rogers is a ladies man.
