With so many events, festivals, and conventions being postponed or completely canceled until further notice, the 2020 New York Comic Con (NYCC) will be going virtual. ReedPOP is this year’s organizer and the event is scheduled to go live online starting October 8th through October 11th. The lineup includes AMC, Starz, FX, The CW, and more. Hulu, one of the most popular streaming services, is going to host several screenings and conversations with producers, cast members, and directors. Other popular networks are scheduled to attend.
Fans may remember that this past July, the NYCC was pre-recorded and then later posted online. This time, ReedPOP will focus on creating an interactive experience involving real-time discussions and viewings. The organizers of the event are teaming up with YouTube to create an exclusive NYCC streaming platform called Metaverse. In previous years, the convention took place at the Javits Center in Manhattan. However, the online event is expected to be just as exciting and lively as past events.
ReedPOP’s priority for October’s Comic Con is safety and connectivity. Fans from across thecountry are encouraged to tune in from the comfort of their own homes to witness exclusivecontent, never-before-seen footage, and all-star cast conversations. Some of the most highly anticipated events include Marvel’s Women of Marvel panel, AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead panel, and DC’s In Conversation with Scott Snyder & James Tynion IV.
The NYCC team is assuring fans that even though this year’s convention won’t be in-person, it’s still going to be as enjoyable and entertaining online. With a variety of panels being held all throughout the 3-day event, make sure to check out the complete schedule available on Metaverse’s official website. Additionally, all panels will be recorded and later posted on NYCC’s YouTube page.
