Check out AMC’s The Walking Dead Comic-Con@Home virtual panel featuring the cast and crew as they discuss the upcoming season 10 finale. The panel is moderated by long-time fan and Comic-Con Hall H moderator and Talking Dead host, Chris Hardwick. The panel will feature The Walking Dead Universe chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, showrunner and executive producer Angela Kang, executive producer Greg Nicotero, who directed the episode, and cast members Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, and Paola Lazaro. Part of the panel focused on the finale, “Certain Doom” which will have an extended opening.
The last time we saw TWD, Alpha’s right hand man Beta had led his “guardians” right to the group’s hideout. And with our heroes’ backs to the wall, help arrives when Kevin Carroll’s Virgil who was supposed to stay on his private island to tend to his family’s graves. And yes, Lauren Cohan returns as Maggie. It definitely will be interesting to see Maggie’s reaction to Negan being a part of the group and not as a prisoner.
Towards the end of the virtual panel, a fan asks TWDU chief content officer Scott M. Gimple if he could make a pre-apocalyptic spinoff for a character, who would it be? Gimple answered Glenn and added that he misses working with Steven Yeun. He also mentioned that, “…we’re looking at things where we can take a peek at past characters”.
Not necessarily pre-apocalyptic, but maybe early into the apocalypse. Kang also confirmed what we already knew, thanks to Robert Kirkman’s comic books — that the Commonwealth is coming.
It was also mentioned in the panel that season 10 will be extended by 6 episodes which means season 11 will most likely not premiere in October of next year as usual. That’s ok. We need some more episodes to fill that void that was missing all this time.
After the season 10 “finale”, the premiere of The Walking Dead: World Beyond will air. Fear The Walking Dead season 6 will premiere October 11.
