Hawkeye Finale: How Spider-Man Can Make An Appearance

With the Hawkeye finale around the corner and Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to be a box-office hit, there’s some chances we may have another Marvel crossover. It’s possible the web-slinger may show up during the final episode of Hawkeye.

Hawkeye Will Face Bigger Challenges in the Finale

Christmas is getting closer and Clint Barton continues to struggle to get back to his family by the holiday. He is still trying to end the conflict between Maya and Ronin while reassuring the safety of his protege, Kate Bishop. And don’t forget Yelena Belova who’s in the hunt for Barton because she believes he’s the reason for her sister’s death.

The Hawkeye finale will deal with these street-level conflicts unlike Tom Holland’s Peter Parker trying solve the multiverse threats in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, there are multiple clues throughout both stories that point to a potential Marvel crossover.

Hawkeye and Kate Bishop’s relationship is somewhat similar to Tony Stark and Peter Parker. Unfortunately, Tony couldn’t continue his mentorship with Peter due to his death in Avengers: End Game. For Tony, he recruited Spider-Man and brought him into the mix in Captain America: Civil War. Kate seemed to just be at the wrong place at the wrong time kind of situation. And now Clint needs to keep her safe all while teaching her the ways to becoming something more.

Going into the Hawkeye finale, it’s been revealed in Hawkeye episode 5 that Kate’s mother, Eleanor Bishop, is the one who hired Yelena to kill Clint. It’s still unclear if Eleanor is evil or being set up to take the fall by Kingpin. The Hawkeye finale certainly has fans anticipating the fate of both Clint and Kate with a possibility that this may be the end of another original Avenger.

However, there is a chance that the Hawkeye finale story could see the introduction of the forgotten Peter Parker. Here are some possibilities as to why Spider-Man might make an appearance in the Hawkeye finale.

Hawkeye Is Set After Spider-Man: No Way Home

It wasn’t quite clear when the Hawkeye series on Disney+ takes place in relation to No Way Home. The MCU does a good job in having a fluid timeline. Sometimes the movies take place right after each other and some cases they take place at almost the exact same time, just in difference places.

The climactic battle in Spider-Man: No Way Home happens on the Statue of Liberty that’s currently under construction. They are adding a giant Captain America shield to the raised arm.

Following the final battle, Peter Parker agrees to be forgotten by the world in order to save the multiverse. The final scene of No Way Home shows a snowy New York and is still clearly around the holiday season. In Hawkeye episode 5, Yelena mentions she plans to go see the new State of Liberty. Not sure if the damage caused in No Way Home would have been fixed within that timeframe. Still, Marvel has been known to do some time-jumping.

Charlie Cox’s Daredevil Made An Appearance In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Kingpin in Hawkeye

Another big reason to expect a tie-in between the two properties is that both No Way Home and Hawkeye introduced the Netflix Daredevil characters into the MCU. When the Netflix Marvel shows were cancelled, the future of the characters were unknown. Now, in the same week, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock aka Daredevil made an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Fisk aka Kingpin was introduced in Hawkeye’s fifth episode.

All the Hawkeye finale teasers are hinting Kingpin will be featured as the big bad of the show. The idea that both Marvel Studios projects would add Daredevil characters around the same time, during the holidays, is a big hint that Spider-Man and Daredevil would make possible appearances in the Hawkeye finale.

Hawkeye finale teasers make it look like the final battle will involve Clint, Kate, Maya, Yelena, and Kingpin in an ice rink. Possibly the same ice rink Spider-Man was swinging over in the final scenes of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

All of these are just theories and ideas being put together based on evidence seen in Hawkeye and No Way Home. But fans shouldn’t count out the possibility of at least one big cameo from another Marvel Cinematic Universe hero in Hawkeye’s final episode.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters only. Hawkeye finale premieres Wednesday, December 22nd.
