It’s been quite a long time since Netflix aired a new episode of Stranger Things; in fact, the streaming service last dropped new episodes on July 4, 2019! But a recent announcement confirmed that Season 4 of the runaway hit show will finally debut in 2022, and to whet the appetites of fans, Netflix has released a new Stranger Things season 4 trailer previewing what’s coming up this season. The trailer was shown at Netflix’ Tudum event.

The Stranger Things season 4 trailer shows an unknown family heading into an old house, but strange and spooky things are afoot. And while not much more was revealed, an earlier Stranger Things teaser released in February gave bigger hints as to what to expect.

For one, a fan-favorite character will be back for Stranger Things season 4 despite how the character departed the show. There’s also some delving into Eleven’s past and some good action sequences involving the entire cast.

When last we saw the “kids,” the Stranger Things gang were battling sci-fi baddies in a fun trip down nostalgia lane. Now that the kids are in high school, the horror and bad guys are expected to be even amplified.

Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things is one of Netflix’ most popular shows. The streamer has gone on record saying that more than 18.2 million accounts had watched the last season, making it unofficially its hottest series.

All the regulars will be back for Stranger Things season 4, including Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, and Cara Buono.

New faces for Stranger Things season 4 will include Robert “Freddy Krueger” Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Tom Wlaschiha, Nikolaj Djuricko, Mason Dye, Sherman Augustus, Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen, and Grace Van Dien.

Will Black Widow star David Harbour, Paul Reiser or Matthew Modine be the mysterious person who comes back? Stay Tuned!

Stranger Things season 4 will premiere in 2022 on Netflix.
