With Loki having just been pruned by Renslayer, an enraged Sylvie demands answers to a lot of questions. Why was the TVA run by robots? Who is really behind the organization? But, more importantly, what has happened to Loki? Loki episode 5 dives deeper into the TVA rabbit hole.

As Renslayer reveals, Loki wasn’t wiped from existence when he was pruned, but merely sent to an end-point in the timeline, essentially the dumpster for all things variants and resets.
As Renslayer reveals all, Loki awakens in this void of dumped variants, where he meets other iterations of himself. In episode 5, he meets Classic Loki, an elder who had managed to survive far longer, Kid Loki, a boy who managed to kill Thor at such a young age, Boastful Loki, a more talkative version, and alligator Loki.
The four Loki fill Loki in on the void and how it’s like a shark tank, where the giant cloud monster of Alioth consumes all matter. Hiding out from the monster, the other Lokis invite the central Loki (the Tom Hiddleston version in case this is getting confusing) into their underground bunker where they hide out to survive.
Sylvie Goes On A Search and Rescue Mission
Back at the TVA, Sylvie is forcing Renslayer to find a way to travel to the end of time and save Loki. Renslayer, however, is only buying herself time until other TVA agents can come and save her.
Cornered, Sylvie decides to prune herself and go save Loki in the void. Renslayer thinks little of this until she asks the hologram of Miss Minute to start compiling all the information on the origins of the TVA.
Not content with sitting by and watching time pass in the void, Hiddleston Loki vows to defeat this monster and find his way back to the TVA. Before he can even exit the bunker, however, he is ambushed by the many other Lokis that plan to take over the bunker.
Boastful Loki betrays the group, but multiple mutinies occur and it isn’t long before there’s an all-out war of Lokis. Hiddleston Loki, Classic Loki, Kid Loki, and Alligator Loki manage to escape the carnage.
Sylvie arrives in the void and makes brief contact with Alioth, realizing that it may be possible to enchant the monster. As she flees, she hooks up with Mobius who has found a car to flee the matter-eating cloud. They manage to find the other Lokis as Hiddleston Loki prepares to form an attack plan.
While the other Lokis are not willing to help with Sylvie’s plan to enchant the monster, Hiddleston agrees to help her. Mobius leaves the void via the TemPad that Sylvie brought with her, intending to go back to the TVA and finding a way to burn it down to the ground.
The plan is that Hiddleston Loki will cause a distraction to lure out the monster while Sylvie will use her enchanting magic on a strand of Alioth’s clouds. The plan doesn’t seem to work until Classic Loki comes to the rescue, using his magic to create a duplicate of Asgard to attract the monster.
While Classic Loki fails to maintain his magic and is consumed by Alioth, both Sylvie and Hiddleston Loki succeed in enchanting Alioth. The monster then clears the clouds to reveal a portal to a hidden location that may very well hold all the secrets to the TVA and the distorting of the timeline.
