‘The New Mutants’ movie is about a group of teenagers inside a secret facility dealing with their newly-discovered mutant powers. They will have to come to grips with who they are becoming. X-Men’s Professor Xavier trained The New Mutants in the Marvel comic books. They even wore matching suits and were portrayed to be more like superheroes. Just like their X-Men team counterpart. The Twentieth Fox Studio version will have a darker tone and be a horror-thriller movie. The team members in the movie will be Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams – “Game of Thrones”), Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy), Cannonball (Charlie Heaton – “Stranger Things”), Mirage (Blu Hunt), and Sunspot (Henry Zaga).
‘What will become of this franchise now that Disney has acquired the rights from Twentieth Century Studios? We’ll just have to wait and see. The New Mutants’ release date is August 28, 2020. Hopefully, it sticks this time around.
