WandaVision is Full of Fun Easter Eggs

    WandaVision Easter Eggs

Disney+ has far exceeding the expectations of most with its WandaVision series, offering fun, excitement and plenty of surprises in every episode.

Marvel fans especially like the hidden Easter eggs each week, those clues or inside jokes that only sharp-eyed viewers with a deep love of the comics and the MCU will catch.

Yet, judging by the groups devoted to these special “blink and you’ll miss them” Easter eggs, not everyone gets every hidden message, and some of them could offer big clues as to what to expect in the show and MCU movies going forward.

Here are some of the best Easter eggs that have popped up on WandaVision since the series began that directly tie to the MCU.

Episode one includes a fun Easter egg in the fake commercial, revealing the high-tech toaster is made by Stark Industries, paying a nod to Iron Man himself.

One of fans’ favorite Easter eggs happened in episode two, when eagle-eyed viewers noticed a four-pronged helmet under the floorboards of Wanda and Vision’s house. This of course belongs to Grim Reaper’s classic helmet, and a nod to the comics where Vision and Wanda have a legendary battle with the villain.

You also see a sign for Bova milk in the supermarket animated scene, and comic fans know Bova was the humanoid cow who delivered Wanda and Pietro.

And a third big Easter egg reveals a small statue in Wanda’s house that appears to be Whizzer, who in Vision and the Scarlet Witch #2, claims to be Wanda’s dad.

The episode also sees Wanda discovering a toy helicopter in her garden—which is stamped with a big No. 57 on it. Fans of the Avengers know that issue 57 of the comic series features the first-ever appearance of Vision!

The same episode presents an interesting Easter egg—a nod to the beekeeper, who you see crawling from the manhole for a brief second. Comic fans know that beekeeper outfits usually mean someone from A.I.M. is around—the notorious military science organization founded by Baron von Strucker.

Episode three has a fun shout-out to prominent storyboard artist Jeremy Simser, when Wanda and Vision paint the house using Simser paint. The same episode finds neighbor Phil reading a newspaper with a subtle reference to HYDRA. There’s also a HYDRA soak commercial later on.

In the fourth episode, a TV shown at S.W.O.R.D. headquarters is tuned to WHiH, which is where Christine Everhart from the Iron Man movies worked. Later, Monica is seen wearing a gold necklace with Captain Marvel’s starburst on it.

During one of the fake commercials in episode five, the product advertised is Lagos paper towels, which is a nod to Wanda using her powers to redirect an explosion in Lagos, Nigeria that was a big storyline of Captain America: Civil War. Episode five also includes another House of M reference, as Vision folds his newspaper revealing just the letters HOM.

In episode six, the show subtly pays tribute to Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff when Wanda remembers trick-or-treating with brother Pietro as youngsters, and she was sporting a red hair braid with bleached ends and he was decked in an eye patch.

Back in the present timeline, Wanda wears a Sokovian fortune teller costume that is eerily similar to the Scarlet Witch’s iconic outfit from the comics. Vision’s costume is also close to his comic counterpoint.

There are plenty of other fun WandaVision Easter eggs to be found in each episode and it’s great to go back as a viewer and watch the background in scenes after you already know the story and what’s to come.
