Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys Season 4 is currently in production. The long-running show based on the comic book series of the same name had a lot of hype with season 3 so it’s only natural that we’re getting more of this hit show. The regular cast will likely be returning but there’s another big name to add to the roster for this upcoming season — Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, star of Supernatural and The Walking Dead, will be a part of The Boys Season 4, via Variety. This addition will mark a reunion between Morgan and series showrunner Eric Kripke, previously known as the creator of Supernatural.
Much like his role on The Walking Dead, Morgan’s addition won’t just be a cameo but a regular character on the Amazon Prime Video series. He’ll be starring alongside the series’s latest addition of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, having also had a role on Supernatural.
Morgan is no stranger to comic book adaptations that go beyond The Walking Dead. In 2009, he played the hero-turned-fascist character The Comedian wearing a garish outfit while he performed immoral acts in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen. In 2016, he had a brief role as Bruce Wayne’s father in the DC film Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The other new additions for The Boys Season 4 will include Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward. Series regulars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Karen Fukuhara, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Colby Minifie, and Claudia Doumit will be returning for their respective roles.
We still don’t know which character Morgan will be playing in the upcoming season. We’ll just have to wait and see as more news about The Boys Season 4 is revealed in the coming months.
The first three seasons of The Boys are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
