Dungeon & Dragons is gaining popularity after Netflix’s Stranger Things series brought the table top RPG game to mainstream audiences. DND has been around since the 70s and has carried on to today’s pop-culture. Now, a live-action version is coming to the big screens next year, but Paramount Pictures just released its first trailer to their Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves film starring Chris Pine (Star Trek) during San Diego Comic-Con 2022.
DND: Honor Among Thieves (using DND for short), will focus on a ragtag team of heroes that will take on a massive new threat. The first footage of the DND film came during a behind the scenes featurette shown at the SDCC panel. The clip offered plenty of dragons and magic along with comedy and other creature effects. The scope of the film looks pretty grand as entire castles and medieval sets are revealed to the Hall H attendees.
Paramount also shared an extended clip from DND: Honor Among Thieves during the SDCC Hall H panel. The clip showed the “campaigners” reviving the dead to try and help locate a mysterious helmut. It also included battle scenes full of dragons, magic, and some sprinkles of good’ol Pine humor. The final clip sowed a chase through some maze filled with creatures that DND fans will find familiar.

“I’ve been an enthusiastic dungeon master for years now,” Grant said. “I believe that’s why the Jonathans thought of me.” Grant, who is attending his first Comic-Con.
To answer if DND: Honor Among Thieves is loyal to the lore. Yes. It does At least for all the monsters. Co-director John Francis Daley said they worked with Wizards of the Coasts, a role playing game company, to fact check.
